Our mission is simple: Treat the gathering like you would a garden, and those who are there like you would treat plants that matter. We are all just sprouts from the root that is Christ! In this attempt, we hold to “3W’s: Weed, Water, Wait.”
Weed- Weeds choke the life out of any garden, and a good gardener works tirelessly to remove these impediments. The Garden is a place to develop roots that go deep into the soil of the grace of God and the finished work of Christ, free from demands and expectations. The weeding process is continuous, as the cares of this life are endless, so the community of believers gather to strengthen the brethren and to help them carry the load.
Water- Jesus is a well of living, eternal water, springing up within our soul. Within a community, the water of life flows to provide healing, nourishment, and wholeness, to all that grow there. Water is the substance of our baptism, where we are immersed into the death of Christ and made alive in His resurrection. Water is the purifying force of the Holy Spirit, both giving direction with His unforced rhythms and cleansing us of all unrighteousness.
Wait- At the Garden we wait patiently for the transformation of the soul and the restoration of all things. No amount of pressure can force a plant to bring forth fruit before its time, and no spiritual coercion will bring maturity to believers. We wait, together, as Christ transforms us into His image, from glory to glory, by the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3). We also work, and occupy till He comes, awaiting the fullness of the Kingdom of God, taking seriously our mandate to love God and our neighbor, and to treat the stranger as if we are entertaining angels unaware.
